THE GHOSTS OF FEAR STREET. THE TV SHOW THAT NEVER GOT MADE AFTER ONE EPISODE.

If you've read the Fear Street books, The Ghosts of Fear Street books, or if you watched the movie series, including the fourth one titled, Prom Queen, which might not be a good one, then you might want to know that this TV show pilot exists. The Ghosts of Fear Street pilot aired back in 1998. However, it was never picked up to become a TV show. Why is that the reason? I'm happy that you asked? I'll tell you why.

First, I will tell the story. I won't give to much away, but it will be worth the effort. The story takes place in Fear Street where horror author PJ Murphy, and his family, traveled here to meet up with their grandpa and help pack up his bed and breakfast, which is filled with strange artifacts. There is even an interesting character that can transform into a web spinning bug. To be frank, this concept is really good. Unfortunately, the TV executives at ABC don't think so.

After the pilot aired, it had received low ratings. It's really sad to see that the TV show will never make it onto the air waves. But overall, if they do pick up The Ghosts of Fear Street, it might go in a different direction. Maybe it should be an anthology series taking place in Fear Street, just like the book series made for younger viewers. Well, while I hope that this could happen, you can check out the pilot yourself.

CYBER PHANTOM'S MOVIE REVIEWS

Brain Damage (1988)

"This is the start of a new life, Brian. A life full of colors, music, light, and euphoria. A life without pain, or hurt or suffering."

Talk about a trip. This is something that might leave you wondering, what the hell am I watching right now? Well, I've gave this one a watch, and it's a true classic film. Oddly enough, this film is about a young man named Brian who discovers a creature that gives him a substance that is injected to the brain to give hallucinations. The creature gives it to him, in exchange for human brains. The creature's name Aylmer by the way. There is a lot of memorable scenes that I like where the meatballs are turned into brains.

I gotta tell you. The effects are really psychedelic. After I've seen this film, I feel as though I was entranced by the lights and sounds. It really draws me into it as if I want to keep watching it to the end. It's a thrilling experience I never encountered before, and I'm proud to see it with my own eyes. Also, I got to give kudos to John Zacherle for providing the voice for Aylmer. If you plan on watching it, give it a go. It's the best trippy film from the 80s you can witness.

HORRORWEB TRIVIA

The spinoff series, Chiller On Delta Street is a tribute to the slasher horror films from the 1980s. The inspiration comes from Nightmare on Elm Street, Friday the 13th, The Burning, and other films too. Notably, the series also was inspired by the Fear Street trilogy series.

WHAT'S THE SCOOP THIS WEEK?

Milk and Serial, A YouTube horror film directed by Curry Barker, might be transformed into a full length feature film. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, he explained, "The chair could definitely be a horror film. I think it would be cool to bring a feature version of the haunted chair story to life. Milk and Serial is probably going to happen as a film."

This summer, Neon will release a Gen Z horror film called It Ends. The story involves college grads find themselves on a road that seems to be going on forever. Occasionally, they would be attacked by the stragglers and have plans to find some rest stops along the way.

CYBER PHANTOM: My thoughts on physical media?

I'll admit, I've been hearing so much about this topic. Physical media stores like Blockbuster Video or even Family Video have been circulating across the internet for as long as time existed. And wouldn't you know. I've seemed to be getting very interested in them. Physical media is making a comeback. We all remember watching our favorite horror films on VHS, DVD, and Blu Ray for as long as time existed. I'm all in on this plan, and I wouldn't want to waste any of it. I will be making a collection soon.

THAT'S ALL FOR NOW. SEE YOU NEXT WEEK.
